When our Lord Jesus Christ went to His Father in heaven, He had said that we will do even greater works. You might get surprise to learn that the greater work is prayer. We know that it is hard to maintain a consistent time of prayer. I was surprised to learn in my devotion this morning by reading the book of Oswald Chambers that prayer is not actually the way to see the greater work but it is prayer itself that can be considered as the greater work.It is a new knowledge for me to embrace and that will really inspire me to keep defending my prayer time and place.
It has been my habit to say a prayer upon waking up and before bed time. When my life changed because of my new status now from working woman to hands-on Mom, it became difficult for me to maintain my usual prayer time. However, I am determined to redeem my time for prayer consistently and constantly because this is the only work I can do that only God can watch. This is the simplest habit that I know I can please God yet filled with various struggle. I always wish to do more and do greater but I always end up working for nothing. Now that I have learned this truth, then I am glad that I can do a greater work everyday by simply Praying.
Guard your prayer chamber! It is a very compelling command which I had learned from one of the preaching notes that I heard from a preacher in our church. Before this message had been conveyed through the preacher, I have already been so worried about my quiet time with my Lord. Life has been changed when I left my day job and decided to be hands-on mom. My days become so hectic even when I just used to be home. I also feel more tiring almost every day because of sleepless nights and days these past few weeks.
It is hard to guard my prayer chamber when I am so occupied with various cares in my earthly life such as my obligation to my family especially to my baby. However, it is harder not to be consistent with my date with my Lord whom I solely meet in the said prayer chamber. I keep on asking the Holy Spirit to help me set a certain time every day for a date with God. Better yet, I keep on insisting Him to make me able to go to the chamber when the scheduled time comes. It takes godly wisdom for me to be able to practice such a habit. I am actually required to be organized and systematic in performing my tasks the whole day and night. Lastly, I certainly need God’s grace for me to guard my prayer chamber and see my God smiling pleasingly every day.
You can now listen to the song of the season in the christian world through this blog. It is always great pleasure to have a very inspiring song at the background whatever you are doing. This song has been leading me to be determined to serve the Lord absolutely. Every word of the song makes me contemplate on how to really give all to Him while I am being trapped with so many earthly concerns. As you listen, let the Lord feel your heartbeat and may He will be pleased to really see what your heart contains.
Every woman wants to be attractive to everyone especially to men. No wonder on the influx of so many beautifying tricks, pills and surgeries now a days every where in the whole wide world. Every wife also wishes that her husband will always adore her like the way he used to do during the courtship or much more than ever before. However, man and woman alike seem to consider attraction through the eyes alone and not through a deeper sense of attraction which only few people have been intelligently taking into consideration. The virtue that the woman possesses is still the best beauty she can ever project.
Virtue is something that will make a difference among women. You can already see a variety of beauty not just here in the country but around the world. Every culture exudes a beauty that can attract the eyes automatically. But better is the woman who has actually the virtue that needs not any surgery nor beautifying pill to make herself beautiful. A virtuous woman is still the most beautiful among all women whether an Asian, American or European woman. And lo, the Book of Life says” who can find a virtuous woman?for her price is far above rubies.” (Proverbs 31:10)
If you have a woman of virtue, try not to let her go or better yet, try to take care of her to the best you can for their are only few virtuous women out on earth.
Many christians struggle on how to keep their faith in action when they are working in a secular company. They seemed to face a lot of conflicts with regards to keeping their christianity in the world of unbelieving company. However, it has been a great challenge to be believing servant of God while being paid as a servant of earthly employers. A secular setting is actually a path where you can test the level of your faith in God and the intensity of your self-less life. Will you still be considered as Christ-servant when you are being surrounded by unbelieving people and unbiblical policies?
Actually, work is a blessing from the Lord. It is an instrument where God can extend His life in you if you will only be a able to bring Him in there. Whatever you do, do it as if you are doing it for the Lord. Everything that is done for Him will never be in vain. Bring the life of Christ in your work so God can extend His life in you for others.
Just to drop a tidbit of wisdom with regards to marriage and how Mr. Matthew Henry commented on certain verse in the bible that tells about marriage. Since I got wed, I really tried to get more information on how to deal with different issues about marriage. It has been many years that I keep on obtaining knowledge about marital matters and it is just so hard to apply everything I have learned because I feel that I cannot do the application and see my marriage to be enhanced if I am going to do it alone. Marriage takes two to tango. I cannot really take everything on my own.
In the other hand, let us see the comments of Mr. Matthew Henry about the verse on Proverbs 5:18-23
Prov. 5:15″Drink waters out of thine own cistern and running waters out of thine own well.
:16 Let thy fountain be dispersed abroad and rivers of waters in the streets.
:17 Let them be only thine own and not strangers with thee.
:18 Let thy fountain be blessed and rejoice with the wife of thy youth..
You may continue reading your bible up to verse 23, now…At this moment, I will just focus on verses 15 through 18. Here is Henry’s commentary notes :
Solomon, having shown the great evil that there is in adultery and fornication, prescribes remedies against them. 1. Enjoy with satisfaction the comfort of lawful marriage, which was ordained for the prevention of uncleanness. Let none complain that God has dealt unkindly with them in forbidding them those pleasures which they have a natural desire of, for he has graciously provided for the regular gratification of them. “Thou mayest not indeed eat of every tree of the garden, but choose thee out one, which thou pleasest, and of that thou mayest freely eat; nature will be content with that but lust with nothing.” Let young men marry, marry and not burn. Have a cistern, a well of thy own(v.15), even the wife of thy youth, v.18 Wholly abstain, or wed. Let him that is married take delight in his wife and let him be very fond of her, not only because she is the wife that he himself has chosen and he ought to be pleased with his own choice, but because she is the wife that God in his providence appointed for him. Let thy fountain be blessed (v.18) think thyself very happy in her, look u[pon her as a blessed wife, let her have thy blessing, pray daily for her, and then rejoice with her. Mutual delight is the bond of mutual fidelity.
Wow! this is great wisdom to equip every marriage for the glory of God. But the question is “will every couple can really keep the marriage pure when human being has a tendency to get easily attracted with another person even if already married?”

Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way which seemeth right unto man but the end thereof are the ways of death” (KJV)
It really is the truth of the matter. Every day, man makes a decision and takes it into action. It always seems that men take the right path as according to their own opinion and interest. Well, it is biblical that men have to be very careful in everything because there is always a way that seems so right in the surface but it actually leads to death.
Matthew Henry commented on Proverbs 14:12 “The way of ignorance and carelessness, the way of sensuality and flesh-pleasing, seem right to those who walk in them, much more the way of hypocrisy in religion, external performances, partial reformations, and blind zeal; this they imagine will bring them to heaven. They will perish with a lie in their right hand. Self-deceivers will prove in the end self-destroyers.

God Will Make A Way Lyrics- Don Moen
God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength
For each new day
He will make a way
He will make a way
By a roadway in the wilderness
He’ll lead me
And rivers in the desert will I see
Heaven and earth will fade
But His Word will still remain
He will do something new today.
Sermon on wine at Proverbs 20:1 ” Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging, and whosoever deceived thereby is not wise.”
Matthew Henry Commented ” Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging. It smiles upon him at first, but at the last it bites. It rages in his conscience It is raging in the body. When the wine is in the wit is out and then the man, according as his natural temper is, either mocks like a fool or rages like a madman. Drunkenness which pretends to be a sociable thing, renders men unfit for society. A drunkard is a fool, and a fool he is likely to be.
Righteousness exalts a nation at proverbs 14:34 “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”
Commentary notes of Matthew Henry goes this way “Justice reigning in a nation, puts an honour upon it. A rigtheous administration of the government, equity between man and man, public countenance given to a religion, charity and compassion to strangers, uphold the throne, elevate the people’s minds and qualify a nation for the favour of God. Vice in a nation puts disgrace upon it: Sin is a reproach to any city or kingdom. The people of Israel were great when they were good, but when they forsook God all about hem insulted them and trampled them.
Every good citizen prays that his or her nation will be led by a righteous leader that everyone in the said place will really be blessed.
Favor of the Lord for Good Man - Proverbs 12:2 “A good man obtained favour of the Lord; but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
Matthew Henry commentary notes on this verse: OUr father judges of his children very much by their conduct one to another; and therefore a good man, that is merciful and charitable and does good draws out favour from the Lord by his prayers but a malicious man that devises wickedness against his neighbors he will condemn as unworthy of a place in His kingdom.
It is then right to see that God will always hear the prayers of the one that does His will. Everyone who obeys His will is righteous.
It is always a intention of our Father in heaven to give us enough provision.Actually, God is and always be the best financier. He always longs to make us secure in everything. However, there must be one thing that we need to do. That is to seek His kingdom first. Yes, if His kingdom is our focus He is more than willing and able to provide everything we need and we ask for.
Psalm 37:25 -26 must be taken into our meditation. “I was young and now I am old yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be blessed”
Mind you, we should really believe in the Word of God for it is always true and it will never return to Him in vain. You will not just be the one to be blessed but your children as well.
Provision is always the Father’s intention. Let this truth manifest in your life.
